This week in class we are looking at what we know about maps, and further developing our "mental map" of the world (what we see in our mind when we think of the world map).
We will first create our current mental map - using what we know from previous years, and this year's study of longitude, latitude and map projections.
Next we will use a variety of resources (maps, globe and internet) to correctly identify and label on a world map:
- the 7 continents
- the 4 oceans
- the Equator and Prime Meridian, and
- the 4 directions (on a compass rose).
Students will receive marks for correctly completing their maps.
