In grade 7, students learned about negative and positive numbers and different ways to add and subtract those numbers (integers).
In grade 8, we look back at that information, and add to it the understanding of how to multiply and divide integers.
Once multiplication nd division are mastered, students are challenged to solve questions that involve multiple operations. The principle of BEDMAS or order of operations are used, which we have looked at in pervious units (decimals, fractions).
The project for the unit is a game development project, where students must design agame that they can use to review integer operations.
