This week we looked at a review of patterns (repeating groups)- what are they, where do we see them, and how to create and recreate them. We clapped, stomped, drew, colored, and sang patterns and shared our patterns with each other.
The tough part for some students was to find and circle the GROUP that repeats to make the pattern - or to draw a repeating group when creating patterns.
We colored some fall leaves with patterns in the forms of AB, AAB, AABB, ABC, ABCD and students had the opportunity to color their own leaves in patterns of their choice. Next week, we will be explaining our leaf patterns to the class, and making a fall tree with beautifully patterned leaves for the classroom. :)
