- Reading and Writing: novels, short stories, biographies, poetry, essays, quick writes, editing, journals, letters, writing centers
- Listening and Speaking: formal listening exercises, presentations, plays, speeches, debates, TUSC (Totally Unique Speaking Club)
- Viewing and Representing: portfolios, collages, posters, charts, comic strips, diagrams, dioramas, video/audio/computer presentations, research skills
